helping me remember what I figure out

It's Been Quiet, Oh So Quiet

| Comments

For wee while now I have been playing on my old stomping ground of US servers. I have levelled my hunter Safetyoff, druid Artaios and paladin Bubbleuc to 85. It’s all been a bit random and as far as Artaios and BubbleUc have been concerned mainly as DPS, which gave me the best mix between doing quests and checking out the new dungeons. I have also been mucking round with a DK (Robertson - a lot of fun, but I have to admin I am clueless at this stage how both resources are managed) and my rogue Turpin.

I feel like getting back into tanking again and based on my current gear and rep levels below is a list of things I need to focus to change up.

Artaios is revered with the Earthen Ring, so the head enchant is available and Bubbleuc has completed the quest chain for Therazane, but it’s time to grind the rep and get to exalted by wearing the tabard  and doing the dailies.

Below is a list of slots and what I need to change/enhance given my current gear. The order of the enhancements is: Enchants > Reforging > Gems. I am not going to worry to much about gear at this stage since most of it will just come over time with dungeons, rep and professions.

Bubble
Shield: Blocking > Dodge to Parry > nada
Weapon: Pyrium weapon chain > nada
Relic: nada > dodge to parry > Fractured Amberjewel

Head: Arcanum of the Earthen Ring > hit to mastery > nada
Neck: nada > haste to mastery > nada
Shoulders: Greater inscription of unbreakable quartz > hit to mastery > Fine ember Topaz
Cloak: Protection > dodge to parry > nada
Chest: Stamina > expertise to mastery > nada
Bracers: Dodge > expertise to mastery > nada
Hands: done > hit to mastery > nada
Belt: get belt socket > dodge to parry > Fractured Amberjewel
Legs: Twilight leg armor > hit to mastery > nada

Ring 1: get enchanter stam > hit to mastery > nada
Ring 2: get enchanter stam > nada > nada
Trinket 1: nada > dodge to mastery > nada
Trinket 2: nada > nada > nada

Artaios
Weapon: Done > haste to dodge > nada
Relic: nada > haste to dodge > Ideally Delicate Inferno Ruby

Head: Arcanum of the Earthen Ring > haste to dodge > wait for new items (Austere Shadowspirit Diamond + Shifting Demonseye)
Neck: nada > haste to dodge > nada
Shoulders: Greater inscription of unbreakable quartz > hit to dodge > wait for new items (Shifting Demonseye)
Cloak: Protection > haste to dodge > nada (>> switch in Cloak of Thredd)
Chest: done > hit to dodge > do nothing (Delicate Inferno Ruby + Shifting Demonseye)
Bracers: Draconic Embossment: Agility > Crit to Dodge > nada
Hands: Mastery rating > haste to dodge > Polished Ember Topaz
Belt: get belt socket > Expertise to dodge > (Delicate Inferno Ruby)
Legs: Charscale Leg Reinforcements > haste to dodge > do nothing (Polished Ember Topaz + Delicate Inferno Ruby)
Boots: Earthen vitality > hit to dodge > nada
Ring 1: get enchanter agility > hit to dodge > nada
Ring 2: get enchanter agility > haste to dodge > nada
Trinket 1: nada > mastery to dodge > nada
Trinket 2: nada > expertise to dodge > nada

Of note is that Paladins seem to focus on reforging to parry and mastery as the primary stats. Whereas Druids it’s dodge all the way.
